Today is the first day of the month and after I got married I was quickly clued in that it’s not just the first day of the month but it’s “May Day!” This is a tradition that Mandy grew up doing with her mother and they would deliver “May Day” baskets to friends and families. Typically, it’s drop and dash style where they leave flowers on the front porch, ring the doorbell and run. She loves doing it and has included our children in doing it since they were little. It’s extra special this year since we’ve been on lockdown due to Covid-19. They are hoping to spread some delight and cheer to those who need it.
It’s also happens to be the first day of National Beef Month! Our food supply chain has really come under attack during this time and we feel it’s important to raise awareness to consumers that there are options for supporting your local farmers. In the past we’ve had numerous friends of ours ask us if we sell beef and we’ve always responded that we aren’t really in that market, instead we focus on raising seedstock cattle for other farms to purchase. However, we felt like it was time for us to respond and give our friends and family the option to know where their beef comes from. Beef is an excellent source of protein and supplies many essential nutrients that our bodies need.
We are happy to announce that we are jumping in to the supply chain and will have some of our very own cattle that we raised on our farm harvested later this month. We have chosen a USDA Certified facility here locally that will turn this into reality. We know with the way our cattle are raised and the genetics behind them they will taste incredible and we can’t wait to share this with your family.
